Romeo and Juliet

 Dear Romeo ,
         
          Its okay that you killed Tybalt . Sometimes you just have anger that fills in your body. I

 understand that he was really annoying. Killing him was not the right thing. Maybe you should

express your anger a different way. Not trying to annoy you in any way but you were actually the

cause of Mercutio's death. You were he one that started the whole fight. Anyway moving on from

that I think that you and Juliet only like each other from your looks. Such as in one scene when your

wife Juliet was giving out to you for killing Tybalt she said something about your flowering face.

Love is not just by looks  it is by the persons personality as well. Anyway you should start thinking

about getting away from the guards because they are most likely going to come after you. You just

have to keep your head high and hope for the best. I think that the Montagues and the Capulets

should figure out a way to bring peace. Every time you guys see each other theres always fighting .

You never know something bad could happen to you and Juliet if they find out you guys are married.

Anyway I must get going tell Juliet I said hi.

Bronxwood

 The book that I am reading is called Bronxwood by Coe Booth.  I found this book very interesting and funny .  I really like the characters attitude and I found that it really gave a theme to the store there a lot of themes  story that I noticed .  Some of the themes are violence and drugs and relationships.

   Two themes in the story is violence and drugs. Tyrell constantly struggles with drugs which is affecting him and people around him. I think his attitude is affecting the way he acts.  I think it is upsetting when his friend Andre got shot.  I found that this book has tons of violence because Collin Tyrell got beat up which is a sign of violence I think this happens because Tyrone was trying to act tough. The other theme is relationships. Tryells father got out of jail and he is not sure how to deal with it. I think him and his father have an ok relationship. I don't think humans his mom have a good relationship she is not really their for him and her other child so he only is really good friends and close with Cal.

      In conclusion this book has outs of themes and is very interesting. I think that Tyrell and a few other of the characters should grow a stronger relationship. I think Tyrell should try and deal with his drug addiction because he is affecting the people around him. Overall I found this book very interesting and i enjoyed reading it.

Synthesis Page Review

          Ungifted by Gordon Korman is a book about a kid named Donovan. Donovan is a huge prankster. When Donovan pulls on a huge prank in school  he thinks that he has gone to far. Later Donovan goes to another school called (A.S.D.)a special program for for talented kids.  As he goes to the school he becomes a big hit but some teacher thing he is not the best student for the school. As he meets new people he is starting to feel like he fits in.


         In the story Donovan feels like he belongs to the school. " For the first time since I'd landed at the academy, I truly belonged ". This is taking a step further because he is feeling like he belongs. And he feels like he belongs. Throughout the story Donovan is showing compassion for other people. " What matters the only part I really care about is that your happy ".  This quote is compelling because the characters are really showing compassion for each other. This is showing that they care and want the best for one another.  Another part in the story is one the character Donovan is talking about how he was glad to leave the party.  This made me wonder if he did like the party or if he did not I think that he needs to be a little more social. The last thing that I noticed is that Donovan is starting to lose confidence in himself. Such as in the story Donovan says " Infront of the entire lunch crowd  in the cafeteria they presented me with the 2012 moron of the year award ". I feel like Donovan is losing confidence and is feeling like he doesn't belong .  I think he needs to step up and be more social and interactive with people and maybe he can gain more confidence . This is what I have noticed in this story  this is what I have noticed in this story Ungifted.

       In conclusion I really like reading the story it was very funny and it was something that I enjoy reading.  The story I learned that there were a lot of ups and downs and that the character had to step up and be more interactive.  I think this is a really good book for teenagers because it can show them that anyone could be what they want and show teenagers that they have talent.

The Other Wes Moore

       The book that I read is called " The Other Wes Moore " by Wes Moore. This book is about two boys who have the same name. This story will take you through the journey of these two boys. You will meet characters who will change your perspective on things and change the minds of young readers. Every page that I turned made me want to read -more. Unlike all fairytale stories this book has a happy ending for one person but not for the other person. This book is riveting and exciting to read. The message that I found in this book is that struggles are going to happen.

     In this book Wes Moores friend Wes is  

put in jail for life after murdering an off duty cop. During this upcoming search for Wes and his brother Tony ( another criminal on the loose with his brother ) the police are eyeing the family's and friends of these people. In one of the  scenes there was a wedding for a family member of Wes's family member. During the drive to the hall celebration the narrator Wes was talking about how it was the first time the family could talk about something exciting other than the murder. This is giving us detail on how the family feels right now in this tough situation. Another depressing upset moment in the book was when Wes heard the words that declared him life in prison. These words were very touching because it made me  feel upset because I could feel the pain and anger that Wes must feel right now. I couldn't imagine myself spending life in prison. You do not to be in the persons shoes to feel how Wes feels in this moment you could just hear it from the words  and description in the book how he feels. These parts in the book now can touch back on my claim on how there could be lots of stuggles in life.

   In conclusion this book is a great book for people to read because it talks about struggles that the author or other characters may feel in the book. This will change the mind of readers from all around the world. I found this book very interesting and think that this is a very riveting amazing book that every one should read.

Me Earl And The Dying Girl

      I read the book Me Earl And the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews. This book is about a non social pessimistic guy named Greg. Even though Greg is a very depressed guy he can be very funny sometimes. He also like to makes films which he calls horrible with his friend Earl. In this book Greg's ex girlfriend Rachael is diagnosed with Leukemia and Greg tries his best to support her which Rachael is not very happy about. Later on in the story Greg and Rachael start to create a small friendship. Even though some people might find this book hilarious other like Meghan Cox Gurdon might not be to fond of the language in the book.
    In the beginning of the book Greg feels bad that his ex Girlfriend Rachael has cancer so he tries to start up a friendship by talking and interacting with her. Even though he is trying to be nice to Rachael, Rachael is not really fond of it. This is because before Rachael was even diagnosed with leukemia Greg barely spoke to her and payed her no mind and now she feels like Greg is trying to get her attention because she is sick. Another thing that I noticed is that is that Greg is a very quiet, pessimistic, apathetic kid. He is  not really social and doesn't really care about life. In the book it says " Most of the time middle school sucks even worse, but middle school is so pathetic that I cant even bring myself to talk about it, so lets just focus on high school. This is showing us about  how Greg hates middle school and which also may show us about how he hates his life. Throughout this book  it has lots of profane language that some people may find unacceptable. Such people are Meghan Cox Gurdon who believes that cursing and other language are not acceptable for young adult readers. One reason that she disagrees with it is because she says that it can affect a child's emotional development. These are things that I noticed in the book.
   In conclusion I think " Me Earl And The Dying Girl " is a book that everyone should read. This is a very amusing and important book I found amazing. This book teaches you about the daily lie of teenage kids and what they go through in school. I hope that this book gives an impact on reader every where in the world.

Be Open Be True Be You

Trying something new can be challenging but also makes you realize things that you never noticed before. In the book “ Never Always Sometimes “ by Adi Alsaid focuses on two teenagers named Dave and Julia who created a list of Nevers so they could be unique and not a cliche  like everyone else in high school. After four years of school Dave and Julia finally decide that it's time to do all the Nevers. Through the bumpy roads of high school Dave and Julia meet lots of people and learn many things that they never even knew. Teenagers should read this book because teenagers can be open minded and try new things and can relate themselves to the characters in this book.

      In the beginning of the book Dave and Julia decide to do their first never on the list which is… “ Never attend a party at the Kapoor brothers house ( Or any party in the invite that just has the word “ BEER “ ) “. After a long night at the Kapoor brothers Dave ends up in the Kapoors library in their house where he is captured by a beautiful girl named Gretchen. On pg.39 it says “ She turned to look at him, Big brown eyes and the hint of a smile. At a glimpse, he could tell that her bottom teeth were slightly crooked. The world was full of details he’d failed to noticed before ”.  This shows that in his past years of school Dave has been distracted from noticing the beauty of his classmate, and was separating himself from the world. In another sector in the book Dave and Julia decide to stand out in the world and try to accomplish another never on their list.  Never number 1. Never be recognized by your lunch spot. Keep moving. Without hesitating the two of them boldly decide to build a treehouse on school property. They also invite Dave’s  older brother Brett to come along and help them build it. On pg.106 it says “ It struck him that Brett might have been one more person he'd mistakenly assumed he knew all about he wondered how much he missed their mom whether he, too, wished his dad were better at bringing her up.” Thanks “ he said, the word suddenly inadequate for what he was feeling. Brett nodded, then offered his hand to Julia, who looked at it and chuckled.'' A handshake? Please”. She put her coffee down on the counter and Rose to give Brett a hug.'' I underestimated how cool you are”.” This gives another example on how trying something new can change your perspective on people or learn something you never knew about that person. If Dave and Julia never decided to do that never they would of never learned about the other fulfilled side of Brett. Teens are always doing something new or experiencing new diverse cultures of people that  they have never heard of before.

       Teenagers should read Never Always Sometimes because teens are very open minded and are always looking for something new to explore. Dave and Julia were placed into the book to change the minds of readers. They were also put in the story to show teens that it's ok to try new things.

Books I Read

     My reading  this summer has been great.  I read three books this summer  and my favorite book was " Brown Girl Dreaming " by Jacqueline Woodson. This book was about a girl who was growing up in the time where segregation was still I'm going she talks about the struggles in her life after her parents recently at her parents got divorced this book was about a girl who was growing up in the time where segregation was still going on she talks about the struggles in her life growing up as a black in that time period. This book was  well written and it gave me a good view of what it was like for black people back in that time.  Some of my favorite genres are historical fiction and non-realistic fiction.  The reason I like historical fiction is because I learn about all the things that one's on back then some of my favorite historical fiction topics are the Civil War I find it a very interesting topic.  I find myself in the zone when I read these type of books and can put the books down.  There are sometimes when I can't stand reading usually one I am reading a book that I have no interest in order to genre that I'm not really into.  This year I hope to improve my reading by reading more books and reading them in less than two weeks.




        Some ways that I can improve my reading are by highlighting words that I do not understand and defining them.  I can also improve my reading by putting in Post-it's or Jott's when I find something interesting in the book. Barnes & Noble's would be a good place for me to be getting my books because they have lots of genres and I can easily find books that I like and f Barnes & Noble's would be a good place for me to be good in my books because they have lots of genres and I can easily find books that I like and find  interesting to read.  I also like to write stories and I usually get my ideas from the books that I read such as I would write about historical fiction and based the ideas from books I read .  I also like writing about nonfiction because I can based off of my own personal life and put them into stories that's why I like reading nonfiction because it slyke I'm in a different world just inside different peoples minds. This year I hope to  grow as a reader because I feel like I'm being distracted from reading and not reading as much as I should be in this year I just hope to accomplish reading more .
